Shadows fall

He visits

Standing tall

I cringe

Skin crawl

He lifted the hood

with beauteous grace

and within

lay my own face.

Another flash of lightning

as the thunder dies.

Vengeful seeking fingers

stroke across the skies.

Hope in tranquil breathing

more so in her sighs.

Soft and fresh like the garden in the morning sun.

Those proud badges of honor.
